Jasën Blu (real name Collins Dada) is a Nigerian R&B vocalist/record producer born on the 16th of April, 1987 in Akure, Ondo State to a family of music enthusiasts. He made his first delve into music in 1999 at age twelve when he started appearing in miming sessions in his boarding school social
gatherings with the music of Tupac and general hip-hop music; he was aspiring to be a rap artiste. In 2004, he got an admission to study Urban &
Regional Planning at the Federal University of Technology in Akure, and after starting off as background vocalist for other upcoming artistes, he made
his first solo late 2005.
Inspired by the conscious music of greats like Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Fela Kuti and Tupac Shakur, with cotemporary acts like Lagbaja,
Joe Thomas, R. Kelly and Usher Raymond, he started scripting R&B music in 2004, recording with the help of other student producers around the university.
In 2007, Jasën (then known as J-Pryce) started off as an independent record producer, and as a performing artiste mid 2008. The following year, amidst various events triggered by the quality and vision of his music which attracted the attention of various admirers (which also earned him a brief stint at a record deal with Brave Entertainment), he had series of press-covered events, various shows and media interviews alongside big Nigerian acts later in the year.
Late 2010, Jasën officially founded his music-making and lifestyle imprint, Block47, on which he immediately started recording an entirely new debut project. He composes, arranges and produces his music all by himself, making him one of the rare breeds in comparison to R. Kelly, Kanye West, and Sean Garrett to mention a few.
The 6-foot, dark-skinned and handsome 25-year old vocalist is currently coupling his debut CD, and his 2-track singles CD spawns the lead singles,
“L.A.S.G.I.D.I. [Gidi Anthem]” and “Born To Be Great” featuring MC Lauda, a highly talented Hip-Hop artiste. “L.A.S.G.I.D.I. [Gidi Anthem]” was scheduled for an October 1st 2011 digital release but was pushed back as the singer got involved in a motor accident in Lagos late September.
On recovery almost six months later, Jasën underwent a thorough re-brand which changed his stage name, theme and re-vamped his approach and ideas on the project. Consequently, the lead singles got re-mixes plus an April 16 2012 digital release date (his 25th birthday) as he resumes recording his debut project. “Born To Be Great” is featured as a “Side-B” track and officially appears on radio release only. However, Jasën Blu is currently an independent artiste.[audio:https://www.360nobs.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/L.A.S.G.I.D.I.-Gidi-Anthem.mp3|titles=L.A.S.G.I.D.I. [Gidi Anthem]
