This week, 360Fashion STYLE DIARY features vintage loving, bag carrying GOLDIE IYAMU.
A Convenant University student, Goldie Iyamu is a budding stylist and designer at Moda Giovani (a fashion line that’ll début in a few months). He interned with ThisDay at the recent ARISE Magazine Fashion Week. He usually tends to dress on the vintage or formal level, achieving the very attractive neat and dapper look. He is quite the dashing individual. I’m so excited to see his diary entries this week!!

Patterned shirts are really in at the moment and in terms of vintage style, what else does it better than a soft cotton patterned shirt with bright colours? So like yesterday, I have worn another patterned coloured shirt but the colours today are somewhat cooler, plus is Saturday so I’ve keep it simple.
There is a stylish mixture of purple and brown going on in my overall look but before I breakdown my outfit, I want you to know that its important there is some coordination when you choose to wear colour/patterns especially for men/guys – you wouldn’t want to look feminine/clowny when you take certain fashion risks.
The shirt is mainly purple and pink in a bold grafitti pattern and the trousers, Houndstooth which has a mixture of green, blue and red; these two pieces in the outfit are totally different in colour and pattern and if not worn well will look hideous! -_-
The key is to make sure the patterns are quite different, in that one should be smaller in pattern than the other, just like the Houndstooth on the trousers is smaller than the print on my shirt:-. Both patterns should never compete for attention!
Now unto the accessories.
I have worn a pair of black tasseled brogues and a black belt to create a balance – we wouldn’t want to add any more drama to the whole outfit now, would we? Notice the way I have tied the end of my belt, its a technique I try to use just to add more style.
The stag head pin on the blazer, glasses, bracelets and rings are just little extras to create a story with the whole outfit 😉
