‘Terra Nova’ Gets Axed By Fox, ‘Alcatraz’ Next?

share on:

Terra Nova which started airing in December 2011 is one series which managed to catch my attention and was somewhat interesting to follow for the first season. During the time the series originally aired, there was some talk about the series being cancelled by 20th Century Fox due to the cost incurred to produce the Avatar-like series.

The series Terra Nova Centers on the Shannons, an ordinary family from 2149 when the planet is dying who are transported back 85 million years to prehistoric Earth where they join Terra Nova, a colony of humans with a second chance to build a civilization. The first season had a total of 13 episodes which had an average budget of $4Million.

Earlier today E!Weekly confirmed that the series has been cancelled ending what was looking to be a creative run for the new series with no exact reason being announced at this point. In addition to cancelling the series, there’s some talk going around that the studio might also pull the plug on J.J Abrams creation Alcatraz which hasn’t been too impressive since it first premièred.

We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available on both series, at least Fringe isn’t being unplugged,  yet!
