Okobi Daniel chukwuema a.k.a KOBI-JONZ is a Nigerian recording and performing artist and the child of a pastor. He was born in the city of Lagos but late in his childhood moved to Port Harcourt where he spent most of his teenage years. At an early age he fell in love with “sound” as he appreciated various genres of art and music. As a teenager, he often found it difficult to relate with his peers largely because they did not have much in common with each other. He often relied on song writing to help tame a rebellious spirit that was growing inside him.
KOBI-JONZ is largely influenced by musicians such as Fela Kuti, Lil Wayne, Lauryn Hill, Timaya, The Notorious B.I.G and most recently, J.Cole. Kobi-Jonz has worked with several producers such as Myme omo Africa, Sossick, Akeem da beat, H.O.D, Double E, KlasseekME, S.T.G amongst several others.
His first single, “Eyes On You” from his forthcoming album “Am I Clear Enough” was produced by S.T.G and has been described by many as a song that is sure to make a deaf man dance.[audio:https://www.360nobs.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Kobi-jonz-kobi-jonz-Eyes-on-You.mp3|titles=Kobi-jonz – kobi-jonz- Eyes on You]
