Its awards season in Africa as the Cameroon Entertainment Awards (CEA), a non-profit organization, founded to recognize Cameroonians in entertainment in addition to celebrating the achievements of our entertainers, announces its nominees for the maiden edition days after the much expected Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMA) nominees for this year were announced. The event promises to showcase many of Cameroon’s top entertainers as well as celebrities from Cameroon and the African Diasporas.

The CEA has a diverse list of nominees however it’s the movie part that interest us for this context. Like it was with the list of AMA nominees, Nigerians just wouldn’t take the back seat and watch it all happen as they took up four of the only available slots for non-Cameroonians in the Pan African category of the Film section.

For it’s first edition, writer-director, producer and entrepreneur- Yves Tchouta and actress Sophy Aiida will host the event which would will take Place at The Cramton Auditoriun In Howard University- DC on the 28th of July 2012.
