share on:

Hey lovely peoples (no typo), it’s that time of the week again when you get the best of entertainment gist the way y’ all like it.

A lot of ishh went down this past week and Don Jazzy is gonna take the lead like a Don is supposed to (Fat Joe ma binu).

Don Jazzy is one entertainer that has built a respectable reputation based on the fact that he along with D Banj and the Mo-Hits Crew have created a repertoire of hits that will make a lot of artists green with envy thus his opinion is respected even though he rarely speaks(until recently that is!).

Don Jazzy made a statement in a recent interview with Hip-Hop world magazine

If you decide that you want to do rap, there is one thing you should put at the back of your mind; your parents are not proud of you, whether you like or not“.

And before you could say jazz, naija hip-hop heads showed their displeasure on the Don with Terry tha Rapman taking to tweet-ville, disagreeing with his views that all rap joints must be sing-song 2 sell.

Don Jazzy has since publicity tried to explain his words in detail via the Mo-Hits website.

It was a gathering of industry stakeholders, entertainment personalities, upcoming artistes, friends and family as they came out to show love and support for the talented music producer and beat maker Kunle Oluwadiya popularly known as Kid Konnect who opened his music studio – Rade Gold to the public in the highbrow area of Gbagada Lagos recently.

The event saw many of the Music industry stakeholders like M.I, Kenny Saint Brown, Andre Blaze, Loose Kaynon, Beazy show up to give support to the official launch of the ultra-modern state of the art music recording studio – Rade Gold Studio which is geared to cater for the needs of artistes through high end quality music production.

Trybe records have held it down for as long as I can remember and recently eLDee tha Don unveiled the new Trybe records fam (Sojay, K9, Sarz and Sheyman) tagged Trybe records 2.0. We wish the new improved crew the best.

Chocolate City also made a major industry move by appointing renowned business mogul Hakeem Bello Osagie as its chairman. By my calculation that means more money for M.I and the rest of the crew; and the fact that Brymo quickly tweeted about the news shows my calculus is on point.

The Branama queen Kefee showed a lot of entertainers the way forward with her new outfit Branama kitchen as she used her celebrity status (and money) to open doors to other worthy business venture with her eatery in Maryland and a lot of celebrities graced the occasion to support the naija delta songstress.

DJ Jimmy Jatt also launched his own line of face caps – D-Triple-J Snapbacks on Friday night at Swe Bar in Lagos.

He also premiered his dope video for his track called “Komije” which features Igho, Orezi, Saucekid and Muna.

So dear naija celebs please follow the footstep of these celebs and invest before the sun sets.

Tragedy struck as Susan Yusuf aka Susy Q (owner of SQ lounge and former business partner of D Prince on the club Jonzing venture), was stabbed to death at her flat at 1004 flats in Victoria Island by a male assailant. The man who killed her jumped from the 6th floor (12 stories up) to his death as people tried to apprehend him.

On the foreign scene, tragedy also struck as the legendary pop singer Whitney Houston passed away on Saturday at a Beverly Hills, California, hotel. She was 48.

Just when she was on the come-back trail… This is really sad! I grew up loving her music so much.

JayZ and Beyoncé have made moves to trademark their baby Blue Ivy’s name because they obviously don’t want anyone else to cash in on their babies popularity! Na wa oh! I really need to talk to my parents, them go tell me why them no do the same for me or my name no sweet reach ni?

X-Factor boss Simon Cowell has said that the reports that he offered Beyoncé 500million dollars to be a judge on X-Factor is false, but you and I know that there is no smoke without fire! Only time will tell.

That’s all we have for this week and lest I forget have got big news all you talented and funny artist (they make the auditions more interesting), Star-quest Organisers say auditions will take place in four cities: Lagos, Benin, Enugu and Makurdi from Tuesday, February 21, to Thursday, March 8, 2012. What makes Star-Quest more unique is that it brings together different talents to form a band so individuality is not their cup of tea (sorry! glass of beer). So if you know got it then go for it, because e fit be you oh.

A big happy birthday to the boss of all bosses Noble Igwe who clocked (chai! I don’t even know), forget about age. He hosted friend and associates at club deuces and the party was madt (although I was not there, somebody told me). I wish him the best and in Wizkid’s voice “God go make you bigger”.

That’s all folks and like I always say live on the 360 highway with no B.S. Peace!
