While her message remains inspirational, her vocal essence & sound has been described as soulful and Afrocentric.
Her smooth and soft voice displays a simple conveyance of heartfelt richness. Tosinger’s influences include Mariam Makeba, Angelique Kidjo, Onyeka Onwenu, Tracy Chapman, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey, King Sunny Ade, Cece Winans, Lauryn Hill, India Arie, Asa, Don Moen, Kim Burrell, Nina Simone among others. Tosinger started singing in the church and was a worship leader in college where the nickname, ‘Tosinger’, was coined by college friends, from her first name Oluwatosin (short form – Tosin) which means “God is worthy to be worshiped” in her local Nigerian dialect, Yoruba.
The merge of ‘Tosin’ and ‘Singer’ became ‘Tosinger’. She later went to school in Nottingham University where she was part of the school’s largest Gospel Choir (Revival) and then went on to study Music/Worship/Theater at the creative arm of the International Bible Institute of London in 2002 where she had the opportunity to be part of some London Broadway shows’ vocal ensemble like ‘Mother Goose-The Pantomime’, ‘GodSpell’ and ‘Rent’. Here, she also learned the acoustic guitar and did backup vocals for Contemporary Christian musicians- Matt Redman and Dave Wellington.
Tosinger released ‘Sound of God’, in 2009 on iTunes, a song lyrically inspiring and soulful in delivery. This song became the regional winner chosen by the Donna Groff Agency in the songwriters’ competition at the Florida 2009 –Actors Model & Talent Competition where she also got a certificate in Stage Presence and Performance.

She is currently concluding a Masters in Arts Administration from SCAD (Savannah College of Art & Design).
Tosinger says “Songwriting comes natural to me. My lyrics and melody are usually spiritually inspired and it remains inspirational, it is a mix of African vocalisms, beats and language rendered mostly as a soulful ballad, sometimes upbeat, a music genre that can be referred to as “Inspirational AfroSoul ”, I do incorporate other genres like Folk, Jazz, Reggae and Neosoul. I can also play around with tunes on the acoustic guitar and percussion instruments. Tosinger is married with two boys and is currently based in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.[audio:https://www.360nobs.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Baba_s-Love_0.mp3|titles=Baba_s Love_0]
