According to the famous Forbes list released on the 12th of October 2011, they released Africa’s 40 most powerful celebrities who cut across the African Pop culture.  This list includes musicians, sportsmen, actors, writers, supermodels, TV personalities and  a movie producer.

The 40 strong candidates came from 7,500 entries.  The chosen ones were picked out of thousands for their strong exposure in print, television, radio, online(twitter and facebook being strong influencers for some candidates), number of web references on Google, number of times they were voted for and their general clout either as charity spokesmen/women and peacemakers as well as political speakers across the continent.

In this now very famous list, there are 10 Nigerians who without any doubt are indeed the most powerful in Nigeria and Africa.  In the order of the published list, here are the 40 MOST POWERFUL celebrities in Africa with what they are known for and their countries.
