WHITE is the new black.  A hot choice for this S/S11 but nothing wrong in extending its purity and innocence to the end of the year and way beyond.  White is most especially refreshing to wear in hot weather countries for its calming effect, and no it isn’t restricted to just Wimbledon or lab/medical staff or spiritual churches.  Be inspired from the runway straight to your sexy bodies

Note: So far in the current NYFW S/S12 designers such as Vera Wang, DVF, Cushnie Et Ochs and Kimberley Ovitz have sent their models down the runway wearing WHITE in very clean lines and exciting structures.

There are several ways to wear this classy and pure colour.  Celebrities have been known to embrace this colour in extremely sexy ways.  Bianca Jagger, the 70s  socialite  introduced in a few iconic images – The White Suit.   Pop princess, Rihanna obviously took a page out of Bianca’s book and made her own fashion stamp in the colour – wearing it absodaringlybeautiful.  Then there is the fashion maverick, Janelle Monae who just knows how to mix her boyish whites to dapperfection.

Admittedly, its not an easy colour to wear but I can promise you that with the countless options out there you are bound to be a sight for sore eyes as long as you follow some of the tips below.

Tip 1 Be sure to be conscious of your undergarments ALWAYS. For obvious reasons, wearing white demands more attention to detail in terms of choice of undergarments. If we see ANY bright coloured underwear peering out of your top or bottoms, you would be jailed – this look is reserved for models on the runway only for fashion theatrics.  Wear your WHITE with black or nude coloured underwear ONLY.

Nude underwear can be bought from all good lingerie stores.

Tip 2 There are no hard set Rules!! Be experimental. White can be worn all year round but have to be worn with the right pieces, or by mixing with dark, bold colours besides the classic black(It’s a neutral colour and can be worn with almost anything). If you would rather a simpler look, then mix with Tan or Nude coloured accessories other than black.

Tip 3 As you would a black suit have a white suit as a classic in your wardrobe. Your suit can be worn casually or dressed up to the max as proven by the likes of Rihanna(buttoned down shirt), Halle Berry(casual printed tank top) and Camila Belle(all covered up with contrasting buttons and neck tie) or Janelle Monae (with a bow tie, hat and brogues). The choice is indeed yours.
