share on:

Directors: Mark Neveldine, Brian Taylor
Writers: David S. Goyer (story), Roy Thomas (character & comic books), and 5 more credits »
Starring: Nicolas Cage, Ciarán Hinds and Idris Elba
Genre: Action, Thriller, Suspense

Nicholas Cage first took on the role of Ghost Rider,  Marvel Comics character based on stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze who gave up his soul to become a hellblazing vigilante, to fight against power hungry Blackheart, the son of the devil himself in 2007 and while that movie went on to score some bucks in the Box Office, it got panned by critics.

Now Cage is back as Ghost Rider in the sequel; Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance which though is missing the ever lovely Eva Mendes as the love interest, still promises to connect with lovers of the character and lovers of action movies alike. Idris Elba (Luther, Losers, Takers) has been added to the mix this time around and from the trailer which was recently released, the sequel promises to be one worth the hype.

From the information gotten from Screenrant as at the time of this post, this sequel is set years after the original movie where we find Johnny Blaze (Nicholas Cage) in a self-imposed exile from the world.  Blaze has become a tormented soul, convinced that his powers are a curse thus making him completely different from every other superhero ever conceived. However when Moreau (Idris Elba), a member of the monastic order of Michael (the warrior angel), seeks a protector for a mother and son who are being pursued by a figure named Roarke – a fellow with a detailed knowledge of the Ghost Rider and his different identities over the centuries, Blaze must return to action yet again as The Ghost Rider.

Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance will be released in theaters February 17, 2012. Release date in Nigeria MAY vary…
