2011 BET Awards: There Should Only Have Been 1 Winner! 2Face or D’Banj? Who Ought To Have Won?

share on:

This year’s BET awards took place on Sunday Night at the Shrine Auditorium, LA, USA.

As expected, the  event was packed full of many mad performances as the number of awards handed out and had it’s fair share of awkward moments (Rihanna was wrongly announced as the winner  for the Viewer’s Choice Award that ought to have gone to Chris Brown …video below)

Anyway moving on… In a year that saw the 2 Nigerian superstars 2Face and Dbanj become African icons and commence their penetration strategy internationally, it came as no surprise when both were announced as tied winners for the Best International Act for Africa which saw them beating other strong nominees in the field most notably Fally Ipupa (Congo DR)

This unusual outcome of a tie is not the 1st to happen in an awards show – In 1978, the songs “You Light Up” and “Evergreen” tied for the Best Song of The Year in the 20th Annual Edition of the Grammy Awards and it even happened again that night with Jaden and Willow Smith tying for BET‘s Best Kid Award.

360NoBS congratulates D’banj and 2face on winning the “Best International (Africa) Act” award; but we would like to know who you think is more deserving of the award.

Who do you think was more deserving of the award?
