As June 1st, 2011 draws ever closer, the anticipation and enthusiasm amongst African & International soccer fans & pundits seems to be at an all-time high as Nigeria gets ready to stage Guinness The Match – one of the biggest friendly matches to ever be staged in Africa. The Abuja stadium will be the battle field as the Super Eagles, the Giants of Africa take on the Football Super Power Argentina.

Nigerian football fans continue to express their expectations for the outcome on the very Interactive Football and Entertainment Guinness VIP ( mobile Platform. Omotola Adebayo becomes the first football fan that will be stepping up and playing her part at Guinness® The Match on 1st June as she joins Tuface Idibia to kick off the proceedings at the National Stadium, Abuja.  Together they will perform the National Anthem in front of 50,000 fans in the stadium and millions of others tuning in as all the drama and excitement of the match unfolds live on TV and radio.

Omotola wins the opportunity to be there for this match of a lifetime and will be responsible for rallying the whole Nation to her 1st victory over Argentina in the Senior Level with the national song as she steps up to showcase her talent live on TV on the day Nigeria makes football history. She was quoted saying

I’m delighted that I’m going to be playing a part at Guinness® The Match.  I am surprised and so excited about performing the National Anthem in front of all the fans – this is a dream come true for me.  I will be practicing singing every day between now and 1st June and will be hoping to get some expert advice from Tuface before the big performance.”

She also added

I feel I will be singing in front of the whole world and I am so proud to be representing my country by doing what I do best at Guinness®TheMatch!”
