I-kode (Meroko Israel) and Olumide aka Olu of the Kode (Adebisi Olumide), the duo that comprise Kode (pronounced “/Code/”) came together in a fortuitous way. Although both from Ondo state of Nigeria, were also born and raised in Bariga. However, while interacting in the same area after school, each discovered that they shared more than just living in the same area; their love for music.
Influenced by the streets they live and international artists such as Atlanta natives OutKast and Nigerian based artists like P square and 9ice. Easy P and Mazxy P also shared the unique gift of being talented singers in English and “Yoruba” dialect.
In due time, both were introduced by a mutual friend to the CEO of BlackBridge Entertainment-Olusola “Big John” Olukiran and after the first performance and interview got them signed to his label.
Now with promising 3 hit singles like “where dem dey” featuring the late lyrical rapper “DaGrin“, “Baby Boo” and dance floor favorite “Baka” the talented duo are steadily working on their forthcoming debut album with production touches from producers like Dokta frabz, ID cabasa, spellz, .Mr daz, Lah Lah among others, Kode just did a video for Baby boo by the upcoming director- Patrick Ellis. Kode‘s Album “unlock’d” is set to drop soon.
