“Music is breathing and breathing is living“, Mani says of his passion. Born Ede Emmanuel, Mani is a rap/hiphop artiste bred in Warri but he was born in Enugu, Nigeria.
Mani started as a member of the Choir while at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka in 2003. While in school, he took a major step kicking off his long desired music career and in 2006, his effort was rewarded when he was named the best rapper/actor in a renonwed group in the school – Saint Theresa Religious Entertainment Group. That same year, He was awarded the Best Dancer in Nnamdi Azikiwe University at a contest held at the Student union Government / School’s Jean Carnival – all before he was in his third year in school.
In his third year/300 level, the number of shows he performed with the group was more than a handful across campuses in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Ebonyi State University and National Youth conference for all tertiary school in Nigeria that took place in Abuja.
He returned to school in Awka, Anambra state that following year to clinch the title as the best rapper at the Glo Rock and Rule event anchored by Basketmouth and Okey Bakassi – He graduated from the University of Awka in July, 2009 with a degree in Civil Engineering. In January 2010, He put in for the Amstel Malta Street Dance Africa Competition with the ‘LEGACY‘ dance group. Legacy topped at the Enugu auditions and came third best at the National finals in Lagos.
Mani is hard at work with the release of two of his singles – DAT GAL and FM produced by Mani and KANDYBEAT who has produced songs for the likes iyanya, D’supremes, MC loph amongst others . He has being a delight at various shows including the MTN Fun Base Park, PASSION CHARITY EVENT Ibadan, he is currently managed by Kaycee Oguejifor of 4TEEN05 media…and plans an online mixtape release in the first Quarter of 2011.
