Anyway… this week the contestants performed two songs – one international R&B hit and one contemporary Naija track. Before that, Peace was sent home as she received the fewest votes.
When the presenter Olisa Adibua asked what’s going through her mind, “I want to continue to be the best I can be and give Africa the best I can give – I’m grateful too” were her last words.
We are now left with the Top 3 as they performed for you to judge!
1st Performance: Tosin Martins – “Olomi”
2nd Performance: R. Kelly – “I Believe I Can Fly”
1st Performance: 2face – “African Queen”
2nd Performance: Michael Jackson – “You are not Alone”
1st Performance: Asa – “Fire On The Mountain”
2nd Performance: Alicia Keys – “No One”
Voting is in the hands of the audience, but the judges still get to have their say at the end of the show. This week’s guest judge, Shank leapt right into his highlight – Da Brodas. “They have presence, they have vocal ability, they work the stage – my man Casey has good pipes and Rasine has attitude – but my favourite is Da Brodas”, he said.
Resident judge Tosin Martins said that Casey’s dynamism; Rasine’s passion and Da Brodas’ harmonies had made the show special and praised them all for progressing from singers, into artists. He praised Da Brodas for their interpretation of their songs, naming them as his highlight of the night. He even had a special word for Casey after his performance of “Olo Mi”. “I’ll be doing it at functions like that from now on,” he told Casey.
