There’s no denying that Nigerian music is making madt waves all over Africa and has also began to gain some recognition globally; but once in a while a song comes along to wreak havoc across a continent… “Oleku” is one of such songs; I had no idea of how big it had gotten in Ghana, Kenya, Cote D’Ivore etc until my friends over there sent me freestyles of local artists jumping on the beat to add their own verses with the most recent being verses from Konvict Music‘s recent signee from Ghana – Sarkodie.
The video for Ice Prince‘s (featuring Brymo) “Oleku” was shot on Wednesday November 10, 2010 at TBS and Bar 10 respectively in Lagos and your favourite entertainment site was invited to exclusively capture the video stills.
The Video was directed by Mex (same crew who did MI‘s “Safe” & Dipp‘s “Pop Off Selekta“). Cameo appearances were made by Jesse Jagz, MI, 2short, Wizkid, Loose Kanon, DJ Sose, Alex of Mr Nigeria Fame, Pope and a few others.
There’s a brief bio on Brymo which I’m sure will touch everyone. It’s a real ‘from grass 2 grace‘ tale. There’s also a footage of Ice Prince and Brymo performing “Oleku” @ Mo’Cheddah’s album launch in De Marquee.
Yup! Get familiar!
