SHORT SHORTS FOR MEN: How low can you go?

share on:

I’m in deep wonder of how trends such as cardigans, scarves (keffeyehs), blazers and what not have caught on to Nigerians and strong and trends such as short shorts haven’t!

I mean Nigeria is probably on average 28 degrees, which induces a whole lot of sweat for the totally covered, so shorts should be a breath of fresh air, Dont you think??   Well i do,  just like every trend that existed prior to this day, short shorts have been around since the 70’s and 80’s and i think they’ve made a great comeback.

From the runways of Dolce and Gabbana, to even Nigeria’s Onyx and Pearl, short shorts seem to be the latest trend to rock the fashion industry, the fashion industry exempting Nigeria.

I love short shorts but i’ll give you a chance to speak your mind, is there room for this in Nigeria?

  1. i am totlally not agaginst shorts..but i dont think our nigerian mena are openminded and brave enough to rock this look..Nigeria is a country where homophobs abound.so rocking dis look an an average man will atomatically make u look gay in d eye of a person who isnt fashion forward..but personally i will rock dis look.i mite not go short short but d knee lenght will do..nyc write up..

  2. i love the yellow on u…love it again love it…i admire pple who r confident in their sexuality n noe tht they wont suddenly be attracted to men jst by wearin shorts or by complimentin another man…ppl like tht cn get it anyday

  3. @nobs lol you should most definitely get a pair, dont worry it is normal for a man to have hairy legs 🙂

    @dahmola i totally understand were you’re coming from and thats the perception that needs to change, thats why we need men that can stand in these shorts and say, I CAN BE A MAN IN SHORT SHORTS no matter what any1 says. plus im happy u wana try em, the knee length ones r rili gr8 too

    @damie thanks so much 🙂

  4. I think there is room for it. as long as it fits amazingly then I think there is room for it, and perceptions will change (if they are important)

  5. Short shorts are cool. Really anything is cool, its not about the clothe, its in how u rock it.
    Confidence and carriage make an attire, and if u feel okay in it, why not? People r gonna talk anyhow, if ur gonna care, uve not found ur style yet.

  6. O my. Always loved shorts. The knee lengths can and do wear any where. These short shorts are definitely going to provide more air to you know where but the idea of them being nothing but exagerated briefs will make them a really hard sell in a soceity like ours. But I look forward to trying em on… Lol!

  7. I didn’t know u write for 360nobs, nice article. I actually scissor-ced a pair of straight-leg jeans I have to make shorts and they look nice. I would say just keep it at or right above the knee.

  8. Hey OrangeNerd you are such a yummy looking brother…. 🙂
    #backtothearticle……. Shorts are cool and if guys can rock it……. why not! You totally rocked the look! 🙂

  9. im not sure about nigeria, but im all for men wearing short shorts.better men than women, who are always stealing fashion thats rightfully ours, but u dont see men trying to dominate theirs.

  10. Those shorts were the original ones for males long before the knee shorts came in to fashion. But with the huge popularity of the knee shorts which were then preferred by most men these days, society seems to forget that the old shorts still exsist but not totally lost. So I wouldn’t be surprised if I see one wearing short shorts today as it doesn’t really make any difference. It’s still a men’s shorts.
