Early September of 2009, a Nigerian musical film idea was born. A tale of not only Nigeria of old but a story based on the Idoma, Benue people came to life through the works and minds of Jeta Amata and Keke Bongos.
“Inale” is a romantic musical film, which is based on songs by the great Bongos Ikwue who was known for such hits as “Still Searching”. The legendary musician’s daughter, Keke Bongos has also followed suit in the entertainment world, taking the dream and the music further through BIK Entertainment. The film is directed by the award winning director, Jeta Amata who brought us “Amazing Grace” and soon to be released “Black Gold”.
“Inale“ is a film based on the life of the beautiful Princess of Otukpo, Inale (Caroline Chikezie), who faces trials and tribulations in order to keep the peace between warring lands and be with the man she loves, Ode, a humble servant of her kingdom.
The family film focuses on the possibility of peace and tranquillity in our beloved country Nigeria, who just celebrated her 50th year of Independence this October. As our great nation is 50 it is important to showcase how far we as Nigerians have come; not just in politics, and economics but also in the world of arts and entertainment. Using such high end technology in the production of “Inale“, BIK entertainment showcases the talent of our very own citizens at home, abroad and how far the film industry has come. With “Inale” history is made in Nollywood.
Diversifying into the world of musicals, the 90 minute feature film is shot in LA California, USA and in the vibrant land of Benue state, in some Idoma and Tiv parts of the state, showing that Benue has more to offer than just a basket of food. This epic film is in digicam format and the picture quality will be next to none in Nigeria.
The film not only shows the talent of Nigeria’s finest actors and actresses in Diaspora and at home, but also exhibits Nigeria in a very positive and colourful light. The movie stars Caroline Chikezie (the hit UK series As if, guest appearance on hit shows U.S.A’s Supernatural season 3, UK’s footballer’s wives and co-starred in Hollywood movies Eragon, Aeon Flux, Mistress of Spice), Hakeem Kae Kasim (The pirates of the Caribbean, guest appearance on USA’s 24 season 7, Broadway show “King Lear” with Sir Ian Mckellen, Hotel Rwanda),Ini Edo, Dede Mabiaku, Keppy Ekpenyong, Nse Ikpe-Etim, Mbong Amata & Omawumi (West african idols).
