360Fresh: The Wonderful Musical Talents of Christine Ben-Ameh

share on:
Christine Ben-Ameh

Christine Ben-Ameh has been on my watch-list for some time now. She’s astounding and her angelic vocals are like a breath of fresh air. Still unsigned, her talent has been one of the most slept on in the past 3 years in Nigeria despite winning a local Jos MTN Talent Hunt in 2005 & the Nokia First Chance Reality Music TV Show in 2007.

Born on October 12, 1986 in Kent, England but grew up in Nigeria, Christine wrote her first song at the age of seven and has not stopped writing ever since. Her musical influences are Alicia Keys, Lauryn Hill & Indie Arie.

In 2003, immediately after secondary school, she recorded her first demo which didn’t do much for her. She graduated from Unijos with a degree in mass Communications. In 2007, she won the Nokia First Chance Reality Music TV Show in which the winner was promised a million Naira, endorsement deals, a million Pound worth recording deal with a record company in the UK, worldwide distribution of the album, 3 music videos shot in 30mm and a trip to the UK. She only got the trip to the UK and the million Naira. Since then, she’s been on the grind dropping a sweet sounding single in 2009 called “Ungraceful” that featured King David. The song was warmly accepted but didn’t get the uproar she so dearly needed to break through. Earlier in the year, she teamed up with EME signee Skales to drop “Mary Jane“, the track was produced by E Kelly and was a blazing (no pun) song.

Currently an OAP @ 92.3 Inspiration FM, Christine continues to be an inspiration to both herself and all the young up and coming artistes that they should never give up on their dreams no matter how tiresome the path to success is. Things seem to looking up for Christine as she is now gearing towards the release of her debut album “The Black Magic Album”. It’s only a matter of time before the world sees her as a star like 360nobs.com does. Happy birthday Christine & remember on this day 24years ago, a star was born.

Peep her songs below, fall in love with her voice and do leave feedback.

  1. Wow, that’s so crazy that the reality show music tv people would mess her up like that. Too too sad. I do applaud her ability to move on and be successful. That said, I do like Christine’s songs, specifically “Mary Jane” and “Ungraceful”. Definitely looking forward to more stuff from her.
