We recommended this track – 02/09/2010. SICK tune! DJs need to bump this all day on October 1st, 2010. As if on cue, it couldn’t have been dropped @ a better time.

Peep the video for DMSquared ft J’odie – “Nigeria Go Survive Reloaded”; directed by AWizzle

The video is set in the gritty sides of Lagos and tells a story of a people who are resilient despite the struggles they go through. It also speaks of the power of the human will to survive despite all odds. It is a call for all Nigerians and indeed the whole of AFRICA to put aside our differences and realise what binds us together is greater than our differences.

We will not get there in one day but we can definitely begin the journey.

Luv the video concept and direction. The song is a remake of the 1984 classic ‘Nigeria Go Survive’ by Veno Marioghe and was produced by the proficient Tee-Y-Mix

Fave barz: ‘Now we’ve come thru the worse in the civil war now/and we say never again in this land/hold my hand/every man and woman’

Yup! Get familiar!

  1. fantastic! great production… video…. good to see an attempt at taking long shots… awesome. love that veno came in. and of course the rap is great too. i expected something trite and preachy. it actually sounds fun and sincere… thanks for this. Im spreading the word and sharing the link

  2. Men, i am feeling this joint. I think it can really work.
The lyrics, flow and delivery were on point, and the little jig dance he did at 0.53 seconds is a nice touch.

I know dude from his days at OAU, Ife, as part of the rap super group New Wine. Bayo knows how to bring it.

All i wld say, and this doesnt take anything from the song or vid, is that it wld ve been a nice touch to wear some Nigerian traditional attire at some point in the video, in keeping with the Naija theme.

That said, congrats dude, I will go cop that joint soon as i touch down.
