(sob! sob!) H/B/Nollywood claims another one. News reaching us that MI has decided to hang the mic to hit the stage. The 2010 BET ‘Best International Act’ nominee we heard has landed some juicy roles starting with an action feature that should keep him busy for a year or more. He was quoted saying:
“I think its time for me to try something new, I’ve loved music all my life but its time to try something new. Acting is something I’ve always had a passion for and I think its time for me to tap into that area…”
” I know my fans will love my new movie coming out soon. I want my fans to know that I’m no longer doing music. A lot of people have been expecting my 2nd album but I’m sorry I’m going to push it to the distant future because I think it is time for me to do this(go into movies)”.
“Its an action movie and its going to be big”
When I 1st heard, I called Noble immediately who simply said “I’m sad”. I’m sad as well, MI broke the norm and I was really hoping that with his new album, he would get a chance to go international. Mr Incredible whose album I reviewed last year is probably Nigeria’s most prolific MC. I was really looking forward to ‘MI 2′. I had gotten an opportunity in June to listen privately to some of his tracks and they were bad a$$.
I guess this is good news for MI and one can only wish him the best; I know he’s really talented and might even start writing his own scripts for his parts. I really hope he still decides to feature on other eMCees’ cuts during his planned hiatus.
