Nigeria….my beloved country, she’s nearly the big 50 but her infamous ability of fronting in the dark (down NEPA …erm sorry PHCN!!! ) can never overshadow her sons and daughters’ various talents (To God Be The Glory and abeg don’t wait till 2012 before “YOUs” #LightUpNaija).
Monday is sure a good day of the week to refresh music libraries with fresh new music coming straight from one’s beloved Motherlan’, so all ye rapheads i hereby present you yo’ new earstylist (no, I don’t know what came o’er me …ignore it)
He goes by the name of RedKad, real name is Ifeanyichukwu Benard Ibeabuchi,a final year student of the University of Portharcourt. He is gonna be 1 of Nigeria’s deepest lyricists. He’s a young indigene of Abia state but born and bred on the streets of Okota in the heart of 9ja’s very own Big Apple – Lagos City. He grew up listening to conscious MCs like Nas, Jay Z, 2Pac, Krs1, Common, Guru (May his soul rest in peace), our nation’s pride- Mode 9ine and so many more.
As a forerunner to his album which is expected to drop later in the year, half of his mixtape: “HIPHOP – Dead or Alive?” has been released on the internet and is free for download and he recently dropped his first single ‘Born Me For Lagos‘ which was produced by a london based producer La’Trax which is gaining alot of respect Cyber and Nationwide.
