Peep the Blazin Performances from the South Africa 2010′s Kick-Off Celebration

share on:

SA 2010 is finally here and I’m so proud to be an African! With over 500 million people from about 200 countries watching the very 1st World Cup in the Mutherland.

Even the Hip-Hop World has embraced the Biggest Sporting Event (hey! what about the Olympics?) and this is evident in the massive Concert held to celebrate this showcase that parade the World’s Best Soccer Players (Messi, Ronaldo, Rooney, Yakubu Drogba, Torres …)

Peep below performances from the Black Eyed PeasAlicia Keys, K’Naan, Angelique Kidjo, ShakiraJohn Legend Hugh Masakela, and Lira who kick off the World Cup in Grand style.

Our Hearts & Prayers go out to Nelson Mandela who lost his 13 year old great granddaughter – Zenani Mandela in a motor accident caused by a drunk driver on the same eve of Celebration.

We also pray for our Dear Super Eagles as they start their Campaign against Argentina. I believe in this team.

BLACK EYED PEAS – I Gotta Feelin’

ALICIA KEYS – Empire State Of Mind

(Why was she singing about NY, couldn’t she have tweaked the track to reflect J’Burg? …a bit out of context but she’s still my 2nd fave diva after Mary J Blige)

K’NAAN – Waving Flag

Angelique Kidjo

SHAKIRA – Waka Waka

Hugh Masekela & Lira
