A little history behind the song…
Gone Too Soon was written by Buz Kohan and Larry Grossman, and co-produced by Bruce Swedien and Michael Jackson for his 8 studio album, Dangerous (1991).

“Gone Too Soon” was dedicated by Michael Jackson to teenager Ryan White,  who was initially expelled from school sometime in 1986 for HIV/AIDS (the disease wasnt so popular then and he contracted through blood transfusion).

Jackson permitted “Gone Too Soon” to be included on the commemorative album entitled Tribute for Diana, Princess of Wales.

Dionne Warwick sang the song in 2008, with a dedication to Janice Joplin.

As fate would have it, “Gone Too Soon” was in turn performed by Usher as a tribute at Michael Jackson’s memorial service on July 7, 2009.

Please enjoy listening to the song and the below are the lyrics which is apt for the passing of Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun a.k.a DaGrin

Solo vocal by Michael Jackson; Album ‘Dangerous’

Like a comet
Blazing ‘cross the evening sky
Gone too soon

Like a rainbow
Fading in the twinkling of an eye
Gone too soon

Shiny and sparkly
And splendidly bright
Here one day
Gone one night

Like the loss of sunlight
On a cloudy afternoon
Gone too soon

Like a castle
Built upon a sandy beach
Gone too soon

Like a perfect flower
That is just beyond your reach
Gone too soon

Born to amuse, to inspire, to delight
Here one day
Gone one night

Like a sunset
Dying with the rising of the moon
Gone too soon
Gone too soon

More than just another Soul singer, her music evokes a sensitivity mirrored in her person. For her, music is an unscripted adventure. She is unafraid to raise her voice for what is right. A sensitivity to matters of the heart, of life and of her environment. With music as her weapon, she seeks to continue to be relevant. Welcome to "Nigeria Thru My Eyes" with LamiNATION.
