As the world continues to celebrate the long and glorious life of Nelson Mandela, we take a look at the his children and great-children, through whom the blood of the great Madiba flows.

1. Mazikiwe Mandela.

Makaziwe Mandela is the youngest child of Nelson Mandela and his first wife, Evelyn Mase. She currently serves as chairman of House of Mandela Wines as well as chairperson of Nozala Investments (Pty) Ltd and Afripack. She is the recipient of a Fulbright Foreign Scholarship and a Fulbright Distinguished Fellowship Award. Dr. Mandela holds a bachelor’s degree in social work, an honors and master’s degree in sociology and a doctorate in anthropology from the University of Massachusetts.


2. Zenani Mandela-Dlamini

Zenani is the oldest daughter of Nelson and Winnie Mandela. She became a Swazi princess through marriage and was named an ambassador to Argentina after a successful career in business.


3. Zindziswa Mandela

Zindziswa is the youngest daughter of Nelson and Winnie Mandela. She was just 18 months old when her father was sent to prison and she was 14 when she first saw him again while he was imprisoned on Robben Island. Zindzi is most well known for her 1985 speech, where she read her father’s response to the government’s conditional release offer before a crowd. Most recently, Zindzi was ordered to pay $7.5 million to an L.A. boxing promoter after she failed to organize a Pacquiao/Mayweather fight as promised.


4. Ndileka Mandela – Granddaughter

The eldest of Nelson Mandela’s grandchildren, Ndileka, has been a family spokesperson on a number of occasions. She was also intimately involved with the Nelson Mandela Foundation, which now serves as a digital archive of information about the leader.


5. Mandla Mandela – Grandson

Mandla Mandela is the eldest grandson of Nelson Mandela, and he is the chief of the Mvezo Traditional Council. He graduated from Rhodes University in 2007 with a degree in politics.


6. Ndaba Mandela – Grandson

Ndaba works in marketing and is a partner at South African firm Kwenda Marketing.


7. Tukwini Mandela – Granddaughter

Tukwini Mandela is marketing director for House of Mandela Wines. She has previously served as head of marketing for Absa Wealth and Private Bank, EMEA Marketing Specialist for Nortel Networks (UK) and Marketing Consultant for RMB Private Bank. Tukwini has a bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Witwatersrand and a certificate in account management from the AAA School of Advertising.


8. Kweku Mandela – Grandson

Kweku was born in South Africa but raised in the U.S., where he lived until 1993. He founded the organization Africa Rising, which supports Africans rising to their continent’s challenges and is active in the South African film industry.


9. Zaziwe Dlamini-Manaway – Granddaughter

Zaziwe Dlamini-Manaway is a fashion designer and stars in the reality TV show Being Mandela.


10. Zamaswazi Dlamini – Granddaughter

Zamaswazi Dlamini works in public relations and stars in the reality TV show Being Mandela.
