By now you’ll already know Rihanna has a stake in fashion and if this current collection is anything to be judged by, our favourite Bad girl RiRi might just be here to stay in the fashion world for good. Just yesterday, her second collection for British retail giant, River Island was released via Vogue.com.
And I have to say, its one daring collection only almost fit for just Rihanna and her cronies and perhaps a few mortals, but there is a 2nd side which any one in any body shape can getaway with as long as CONFIDENCE is the first name. Its a mix of high fashion and regular sport wear fit for any sporty tomboy and a few ladies. Infact, there is a certain style ode to early Aaliyah with this collection. Aaliyah would have been proud of this collection.
The 50piece collection is divided into 3 colour schemes – Red, Black and Camouflage – in crop tops, baseball tops, mesh basketball shorts/jerseys but in a more Rihanna way, maxi dresses and skirts, underwear with wide bands emblazoned with G4Life and RiRi, sexy leather mesh and oversized jumpers, hoptpants, daring high shine trousers, beanie hats and more. We do know there is a penalty wearing camouflage in Nigeria but when the officials see these pieces on you, you’ll be waived : )
Also included in the collection are shoes – ankle sandals and thigh high camouflage boots plus a throwback to female timberland high heeled boots – remember when Beyonce and Jay-Z did the 2003 Bonnie & Clyde video – the first time they showed their love for each other publicly in a song.
This is a collection we can’t wait to see – the leather mesh tops are the most classic items to purchase – BEAUTIFUL!
The collection would be released twice before the year 2013 ends – September and November (You can visit here) . Check out the full collection below and be the judge. Love or Hate? I’d like to hear from you.
Here is a video of the photoshoot with Rihanna doing a bit of direction.
All current and future news regarding Rihanna’s collections will be posted on her pages on here. You should check it out.
