360NoBS: You happen to be more interested in theatre roles than movie roles now. What’s the reason for the switch? Is it just a phase?
Bimbo Akintola:I studied theatre arts at the University of Ibadan and always have done stage when the opportunity comes my way.

360NoBS: What’s your role in the play, A Husband’s Wife?
Bimbo: Tomi. The wife

360NoBS: You’ve done a couple of stage plays in the past. Doesn’t this particular one pose any serious challenge to you?
Bimbo: All characters are a challenge be it film or stage. Becoming the character and giving a believable performance is always a challenge.

30NoBS: A lot of upcoming actors and actresses feel that the TV is the zenith of acting. Like stage plays may be inferior to being on the TV screen. What’s your take on this?
Bimbo: Everyone is allowed their belief. For me it’s the same only on different formats. The end point is putting up the director’s interpretation of the script.

360NoBS: The story is about a husband going through mid-life crisis and his wife (you) having to deal with it. Does this story in any way affect your perception about marriage?
Bimbo: No, it doesn’t. It just points out a serious situation that if not handled properly can end a marriage.

360NoBS: What more should be expected from Bimbo Akintola in coming months. More stage plays or movies or both?
Bimbo: Both. I always want to be part of creating on stage or films.

360NoBS: Say something about the cast and crew of the play.
Bimbo: Toyin Oshinaike is a brilliant actor. The director knows exactly what he wants while accommodating our own thoughts.

360NoBS: What would you like to tell your fans?
Bimbo: Thank you for all the support may I never disappoint you.

360NoBS: The story is about a husband(you) going through mid-life crisis and his wife having to deal with it. Does this story in any way affect your perception about marriage?
Toyin: The play awakens a consciousness of mid-life and its attendant crisis. It opens up the dangers of emotional neglects in matrimonial circumstances. I’ve been married almost as long and in mid-life too, so I’d be careful not to find myself in the same crisis.

360NoBS: Say something about the cast and crew of the play.
Toyin: The Majmua theatre is fresh and burning with a passion for artistic & professional excellence. ‘A Husband’s Wife’ is a solid beginning.

360NoBS: What would you like to tell your fans?
Toyin: To our fans – “marriage is work, lots of work”.
