Created to celebrate African film and television talent, both in front of and behind the cameras, the inaugural edition of the 2013 AfricaMagic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) had it all as Nollywood & Africa’s finest came together ‘magically’ at the Eko Hotels & Suites for an evening of glamour and celebration.

Hosted by Nigerian IK Osakioduwa & Zimbabwean Vimbai Mutinhiri, the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards saw most of our favourite stars going home with awards for their hard work and passion in the art of movie, drama and film production and acting. The night was quite intense as actors looked on and hoped that they had done enough to win majority of the AfricaMagic viewers’ votes for the numerous categories.

Nigerian actor O.C Ukeje and Ghana’s Jackie Appiah walked away with the biggest categories of the AMVCAs – the ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Best Actress’ awards. Anita van Hemert & Chantel Carter won the ‘Best director’ award for their South African 2011 Drama movie – ‘Otelo Burning’. Veteran movie director Tunde Kelani also scored big at the AMVCA for the ‘Best Local Language Movie’ (Yoruba) award for his latest film ‘Maami’.

Our team consists of a mix of the GOOD, the NAUGHTY and the most BEAUTIFUL people, just the way YOU want it served. We always have something to say whichever way you look at it. Appreciate us, Love us, Hate us (NOT) we are bound to crack you up whichever way.

  1. Osas was by far d best dressed amongst the female artist, Rita Dominic, Funke akindele,Ivie they looked fab too. But oh MY! Wat was JIM IYKE wearing

  2. Was very disappointed with Genevive. Tot she was a decent dresser. Am so so disappointed. Lovely white dress but did she have to bare her chest?

  3. I dnt think U av to expose everything before U look beautiful. The real beauty is in covering up. for the guys, they all dressed well except for Jim that wore the wrong outfit for the right outing.
