2011 will be remembered as the year P-Square invaded our stereos and tvs, Wizkid went Super Nova ensuring we started pakurumo-ing, Everybody fell in love with Ice Prince, Davido took us from Back When into the possibility of a future star that noone could hold down, W4 took control and Rayce made Sir Mix-A-Lot’s Baby’s Got back Roll.
In addition for the first time ever in Nigeria and probably Africa, different music bloggers came together just for the purpose of recognizing some notable tracks released within a particular period. All in all, 2011 was a year of incredible songs and albums however for the purpose of this compilation, these 49 original singles and 1 freestyle which have been chosen and agreed upon by representatives of 6 of your favorite Nigerian music blogs - djmightymike.net, gidilounge.com, jaguda.com, nigerianhiphop.net, tooxclusive.com and 360nobs.com, represents an impressive list of tracks from some veteran artists and noteworthy newcomers.

Ah! Top 50 how. there are many songs that are better than some songs on this your compilation. But I figure no matter even if you guys put all the songs we want some people will still complain. So nice initiative, hopefully the next compilation will be more objective and if possible involve we the readers to voting.
