Music Meets Runway, the event that brought music and fashion together on the catwalk. No surprise there, it was a fabulous event as over the years music and fashion have been in an ongoing love affair and the two are often used together to complement each other. The show featured a lot of amazing talent in the Nigerian fashion industry and I have a warm fuzzy feeling inside anything I come across such beautiful pictures from the show.

It was so difficult deciding which designer stole the show so I have decided to leave the decision in your hands. There is nothing I love nothing better than getting 360 fashion readers involved in our post, and what better way to get your creative streaks out than to have you play Fashion Jury…. What are you waiting for? Flex those fashion muscles start picking your faves.

Vonne couture is in fact couture in every sense of the word. Think stringy dresses, rich fabrics, structured dresses and a designer with a fantastic imagination for clothing. Pieces from her collection were nothing short of breathe taking.

Ladylike, delicate but yet strong and structured describes Viv La Resistance’s collection for Music Meets Runway. Dramatic and colourful hair fascinators give it a beautiful but yet quirky character to the pieces.

Fierce, strong, feminine, incredibly tailored and timeless… these are just a few words that do justice to incredibly talented designer Toju Foyeh. Her collection on the runway did not in any way disappoint, we expected nothing less.

Colour blocking? Check! Gorgeous gold and yellow hues? Check! Dramatic anklets? Check! I’ts almost like we’ve been waiting for Obsidian to storm the runway with her unique and unconventional pieces.

I remember looking at GREY’S colour blocking collection last season and thought I had seen it all, but they proved how versatile and creative they are with their ultra modern collection which featured pieces for male and female fashion lovers. These designs are the future of fashion. Think; minimalistic looks.

Love the label name. Love the pieces and the use of prints throughout, prints can be very trick to use and it takes a designer who has done their homework properly to pull these pieces off and the ladies of Republic of Foreigner did an amazing job.

Dressy by nature? Socilaite? Life of the Party? Classy? Elegant? Modern? Ahh yes, we are talking about Virgos Lounge. It’s the GO-TO label for when you have THAT event to attend, and yes they shut down their runway which spectacular red carpet worthy pieces.

Everyone loves vibrant colours that have been mixes tastefully in one single piece and MEENA shows us just how to pull that off. We love this playful collection, as it’s a distinction from her last collection. Looks like Meena has more fashion tricks up her sleeve. Watch this space.

Pretty laces and structured dresses that scream; “wear me to a wedding reception or that garden party”. Babuska makes the fusion of black and white pieces look sophisticated and yes “cool” in a demure manner of course.

Gothic glam has never looked more cool by an African designer and  and Tsemaye shows that he can set the bar higher for others to follow. He is definitely on our fashion radar and one of the few upcoming stars in fashion.
